I’ve designed Kindle Oasis infographic for Ebook Friendly and one of the sections that are included is the comparison.
Geeks love to compare new models with the existing ones. You know, “iPad killer,” “Kindle killer,” and “every-tablet-on-the-market killer.”
The problem with Kindle Oasis is that the device doesn’t have the direct competitor. The price range is not the major issue. Yes, it’s the most expensive 6-inch e-reader, but the lack of competitors lies in the concept of Kindle Oasis. It’s too out-of-the-box.
Nook GlowLight Plus can be compared with Kobo Aura H2O because both devices are waterproof. Oasis has two unique features that make it incomparable:
- it’s asymmetric (a new concept for one-handed reading),
- it has a battery cover (a new concept for battery mangement).
Therefore, it only makes sense to compare Kindle Oasis to the earlier top-of-the-line e-reader from Amazon – Kindle Voyage. At least it will give an answer to a simple question: “Why should I pay $90 more for the already expensive single-purpose device?”
Check out two comparisons that I’ve included in the visual, and make sure to see the entire infographic on Ebook Friendly.
