Polish words that are most difficult to pronounce

Polish words that are difficult to pronounce / Design by Piotr Kowalczyk

Polish is one of the hardest languages to learn, and it’s not only about the complex grammar and a plenty of exceptions.

Try to say “happiness” in Polish. According to International Phonetic Alphabet, you should say: ˈʃʧ̑ɛ̃w̃ɕʨ̑ɛ.

Polish language has numerous sound combinations that don’t exist in other languages, and the stress and intonation can be difficult to master. As a result, you will find it extremely difficult to repeat the Polish word correctly after hearing it once.

Polish is my mother tongue, and it turns out it’s my superpower:-)

Take a look at a series of designs that feature the most difficult Polish words. I have designed them using original Polish folk ornaments that are available in the public domain from Polona, a digital library of the National Library of Poland.

The designs are available on Redbubble, Zazzle, and Amazon on multiple clothing and home products.
