Tim Boucher, a Canadian AI artist and author, wrote recently in Newsweek that he published 97 books since August 2022, and all these books have one thing in common – they were created with AI tools.
The author is using ChatGPT for text and Midjourney for images. Each of his short books contains up to 5,000 words and between 40 and 140 AI-generated images.
💬 My goal was straightforward: To craft a series of unique, captivating ebooks merging dystopian pulp sci-fi with compelling AI world-building.
The books reference to each other, making a web of stories that connects them all to “constantly draw readers in and encourage them to explore further.”
Boucher admitted that he sold 574 copies so far, and earned nearly $2,000 in total. Ebooks cost between $1.99 and $3.99, and are available on Gumroad.
Authors, how much time do you need to write a book? How much time do you need to write 5,000 words? Designers, how much time do you need to create a single fantasy image?
Tim Boucher says he needs between 6 and 8 hours to create and publish each of his books.
💬 In some instances, I’ve been able to produce a volume in as little as three hours, everything included.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
by ELIZABETH GILBERT
Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack Gilbert, who was not related to me – unfortunately for me.
Jack Gilbert was a great poet, but if you’ve never heard of him, don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault. He never much cared about being known. But I knew about him, and I loved him dearly from a respectful distance, so let me tell you about him.
Jack Gilbert was born in Pittsburgh in 1925 and grew up in the midst of that city’s smoke, noise, and industry. He worked in factories and steel mills as a young man, but was called from an early age to write poetry. He answered the call without hesitation. He became a poet the way other men become monks: as a devotional practice, as an act of love, and as a lifelong commitment to the search for grace and transcendence. I think this is probably a very good way to become a poet. Or to become anything, really, that calls to your heart and brings you to life.
