This hilarious cartoon by Tom Gauld may not have been perceived as relevant at the time of its publication in the Guardian in March 2021.
But it is relevant now. The cartoon brilliantly shows how AI algorithms work. It’s all about choosing the right path.
AI-generated books are flooding Amazon, and it’s not easy to spot them. Large language models (LLMs) are trained on a vast number of pirated books, so they could come up with their own stories.
And the existing AI technology lets you create chatbot companions for newly released books.
Follow the right path. It may all start with artificial intelligence, but it should always end with humans.
What story about AI have you come up with?
Mine is this: A lonely plumber creates a malfunctioning robot that wants to befriend humans.
